Question Formula to Assign Employee Based on Range?

    Hello,

I'm trying in vain to figure out a formula to tell me who a file is assigned to based upon the first four letters of a customers last name. I already have a formula to get the first four letters, but here's an example of what I'm needing:

First 4 Assigned Employee Range Employee
BELK AAA - BOUZ Employee 1
BENN BOC - CLAZ Employee 2
BERG CLB - HANZ Employee 3
BOBO HAO - JAGZ Employee 4
CAST MAH - MORZ Employee 5
CRAF MOS - PRIZ Employee 6
GARC PRJ - TINZ Employee 7
HARM TIO - ZZZZ Employee 8
    HATF
    HENL
    JONE
    JORD
    MAND
    MART
    MAXW
    MCRE
    MILL
    NELS
    NELS
    PLAT
    POLL
    RATL
    ROGE
    SAND
    TERR
    VANN
    WATK
    WHAT
    WILL
    WILS
    WIND
    WRIG
    WYNN

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you all.

    Jennifer

    In B2, then copied down: =VLOOKUP(A2, $D:$E, 2, 1)

You are my hero, I'm not sure why I couldn't get my vlookup to work. I really appreciate it.
