Conditional Formatting Rows based on Unique Values in Column

    Hello All,

I apologize if this has been addressed already in the forum, I've done some quick searches and couldn't find an example that pertained to my situation.

I'm trying to Underline a Row from Column A:O based on a Unique Value in Column A. So, every time I have a unique value in Column A, I'd like Excel to Underline. I'm sure there is a way to do this with conditional formatting, but I'm too thick to go it alone.

Please see my attached example, I'm starting with a worksheet that looks like 'Sheet1' I'd like the formatting to look like 'Sheet2'. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Best,
    DJ

    Hello
Try the following CF formula applied to A1:O21:

The border options, however, are a bit limited in conditional formatting, unless they've added more since 2007.

    Hope this helps.

That did it, you're awesome. I don't mind if the border isn't thick, I know the border options are limited with CF.

    Thank You!

Re: Conditional Formatting Rows based on Unique Values in Column

    Hi there,

Your post mentions underlining whenever a "unique" value is encountered in Column A, but your workbook shows underlining whenever the value in Column A changes from one row to the next.

Assuming that your workbook indicates what you want, you should use the following formula when applying Conditional Formatting:

Conditional Formatting will allow you to use a thin line for underlining, but not a thick one.

I hope the above helps - please let me know how you get on.

    Regards,

    Greg M

Both of these options worked. I'm going to use yours Greg since it is slowing my Workbook down much less (I'm using this formula on a much larger workbook than my example). Thank you both for your assistance. I appreciate it.
