Counting work days, not weekends

Hello everyone,

I always need to count the number of workdays it takes to produce an item in my shop. I only count Monday thru Friday, but never count Saturdays or Sundays. We put the start date in A1 and the finish date in B1 and do the simple calculation in cell C1 of B1-A1. However, that adds the weekend days. What formula can I use this to calculate only Mondays thru Fridays? Seems like we have to somehow designate which dates are weekend dates. Any help would be greatly appreciated ... thanks much!

You can also include a list of public holidays as a third parameter range should you wish to exclude those too.

Thanks Richard ... that works great. I had a feeling there was a simple formula. Holidays are an issue but I'll work at the third parameter as you suggested. I appreciate it.
