    I need help joining rows-

    I NEED HELP JOINING ROWS-
    =====================

    i have data like this please help me format in excel 2010.

    1.fname
    2.lname
    3.fname
    4.lname
    5.fname
    6.lname

    i need it to be like this.

    1.fname|lname
    2.fname|lname
    ...

    taking row 1.[fname] and joining it with row.2[lname] in different columns
    and the do the same for the next row
    taking row 3.[fname] joining it with row.4[lname] in different columns

    like this until all ...are done/

    Assuming your list is in column A starting in cell A1, put this formula in C1:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    then copy down as far as you need to.

    Thanx Pete. it worked even though it was joining the two strings in one cell, i am managed to separate in into two different cell columns. thanx a lot Pete.

    Based on your last post in this thread, its apparent that you are satisfied with the solution(s) you've received and have solved your question, but you haven't marked your thread as "SOLVED". I will do it for you this time.

    In future, to mark your thread as Solved, you can do the following -
    Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Solved.

    Incase your issue is not solved, you can undo it as follows -
    Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Unsolved.
