Hi all,
I have attached an excerpt from one of my models that I have put together in a worksheet. Basically it includes, some of this years NFL American Football results (through the Thursday night game this week) and I have simulated the rest of the results (I've stripped the functions out for these to save space when posting - and I had one 10,000 row data table per team etc.). Basically this then generated a winner and a loser for each game (which I have tabled at the top using a countif). I then used this to put together a divisional table, and have then done named table_array's for each of the NFC divisions to try and get the divisional winners into the correct seeding. I haven't tried to do this for the AFC yet because of the problem below.
The problem that I have got is this - in the NFC North and NFC South (highlighted in yellow) on this particular run of the simulation, we have ties for the divisional winner (I'm not even thinking about the wildcards yet). I am thinking where I have a full table of existing and simulated results, I may hopefully be able to put functions in to simulate the NFL tie-breaking procedures? The VLOOKUP's that I have put in my divisional winners table only picked Chicago and Carolina out as they were the alphabetically first highest ranked team in each division (and hence are not taking account of any tie-breakers).
I'm thinking I need to put a separate table in for each division (as in the case of Carolina and New Orleans they would split the first tie breaking rule as the both won one game against each other - based on simulated results - so it would then be onto the next one).
The NFL tie-breaking rules are listed here:

Any advice or pointers in the right direction (e.g. I'm figuring someone else must have tried this) would be appreciated, so thanks in advance.
