Complex Count based on criteria

Hi All,

Have a rather complex Excel issue that I am trying to solve.

Basically I have a list of ID's with corresponding dates and categories. What I need the formula to do is count how many different dates are attached to each ID, taking into account categories A,B,C. Some ID's have a category D which I want to exclude from the calculation, and not all categories are present for each ID.

Let me know if I have not explained this very well. An example of what I need to happen is below.
