Is there a way to quickly change the format of this date: 20110816

is it an actual date or text in the cell
and do you get 0 for the days
ie
20110802
if so to convert to a date try
=DATEVALUE(MID(A1,7,2)&"/"&MID(A1,5,2)&"/"&LEFT(A1,4))

If that number is in cell A1, you can use this formula to convert it to a date, then apply the formatting you want through the formatting toolbar:
=DATE(LEFT(A1,4),MID(A1,5,2),RIGHT(A1,2))
- Moo
Thanks I'll try it.
Here's another one...
A2 = 20110816
Enter this formula in B2:
=--TEXT(A2,"0000-00-00")
Format as Date
