Excel 2103 conditional formatting to additional cells.

I created a conditional format based on 500 increments and inserted it into a group of 20 rows, in the middle of the rows I need to change the conditions so I did and when I save the change it changes the ENTIRE 20 rows not just the row I changed. How can I save the condition without affecting all of the rows in the group?

Basic condition description of the group of cells is below
c1>4500= turn cell Red
c1>4000= turn cell Yellow
c1>3500= turn cell Green
This is the condition for C1-C9 and C11-C20. Cell A1 in the row is the vehicle number and is sorted numerically so I cannot just make a group with the first condition and another with the second, all that would do is make me have to search for the vehicle numbers out of order. There are over 200 rows that are segregated into groups of 20 rows.

what I changed to is below
c10>39500= turn cell Red
c10>39000= turn cell Yellow
c10>38500= turn cell Green

When I saved the changes it over wrote all of the first 20 rows with that value. I want to exclude c10 from the original conditions without changing all of the rows.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Sounds like you need to adjust the ranges in the "applies to" section of the CF window?

In addition, you may need to insert a new rule to cater for teh change you want?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Excel 2103 conditional formatting to additional cells.

I tried to do that, but it seems like all I could do was to have a start and end and then skip over the new value rows and have a new start and end. That looks like a pain since I do have over 200 rows, about 175 will be the same conditon but the other 25 will be sporadic thru the sheet.. is there a way to only have the condition set for the current cell only and not be part of a group that it applies to?

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.
