How to get summary/count of task on weekly basis

I am trying to make my excel sheet more robust to get data on weekly basis. I assign tasks to different members of team by entering the assigned date in column next to the member names. Next week, say on Monday, I need to get total number of tasks assigned for each of the members till Friday (last working day of previous week!).
I need to get this data every week. Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks in advance for your time!

Thanks, but it's not clear what you are trying to achieve.

Could you re-post your attachment with your desired results manually added?

Re: How to get summary/count of task on weekly basis

Thanks. Your table contains only tasks done in the 'previous' week, so the formula is simply (in J5 and copied down):

    =COUNTIF($D$5:$D$14,I5)

If your table will actually contain more than just this period's worth of dates, then you need to re-do your example spreadsheet to reflect this, and obviously amend your desired results accordingly.

    Regards

Re: How to get summary/count of task on weekly basis

Data in the sheet will be dynamic as it keeps changing every day. As I mentioned earlier, I need to have the data every week till the end of previous week. So the data keeps adding in the main sheet and in the summary area against each member, I should be able to see the weekly summary. Is it doable? Pls advice.

Re: How to get summary/count of task on weekly basis

    Hi,

As I said, the data you posted was not a very good representation of your actual query, so you need to re-post the attachment so that it is precisely that. At the moment, your table contains only tasks done in the 'previous' week, so it is not very useful in terms of providing you with a solution.

Kindly insert more data and make sure to update your desired results.

    Regards
