Extracting data between 2 characters in a text string

Hi this is my first post -- so be gentle

I have the data string below:

Career:25: 1-0-2 $13,765

I would like to extract the 1 between the : and -
and as a seperate extraction would like te 2 between the - and the $
I have tried a few things but end up with the - as the length of the data changes

It just replaces the spaces, semicolons and dashes with 100 spaces and then you can just tell it which part you want and remove the extra spaces. The double negative at the beginning of the formula converts the text into a number. If you are extracting text then you need to remove this because it will cause an error.

I tried to use it for the string
Stats LY: 1047: 100-105-99
as I wanted to get the 100 and the 99 like above but could not quite figure out the correct syntax.
Your explaination was a great addition in assisting but I must be a bit thick..
