    Lookup Combinations 3D

    Excel Help.jpg

    See above for simplified format.

I was having some problems and I have tried using the vlookup/hlookup/match combo with no luck thus far. Not the best with excel… just an fyi.

So I am trying to auto fill a form so I don't have to waste hours doing manual entry.

The data table sheet is MASSIVE and reformatting it is a bit out of the question.

So based on a tool number and part number for a specific tool I was wanting to output the job number and heat treat number that corresponds to each component.

    Please Help!!!

In the above image the Job number output would be "7" and the heat treat output would be "8"

I apologize for the initial error

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

    Re: Lookup Combinations 3D

    Put in Cell M4:
    =INDEX(A1:G8,MATCH(M2,A1:A8,0),MATCH(M1,A1:G1,0))

    in Cell M5
    =INDEX(A1:G8,MATCH(M2,A1:A8,0),MATCH(M1,A1:G1,0))+1

All is Array Formula, after insert the formula you need to hit CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER together

    Re: Lookup Combinations 3D

those are not array formulas and dont need to be array entered just type them in
the second one is wrong it should be
    =INDEX(A1:G8,MATCH(M2,A1:A8,0),MATCH(M1,A1:G1,0))
    =INDEX(A1:G8,MATCH(M2,A1:A8,0),MATCH(M1,A1:G1,0)+1)
