Hello. How would I create a formula that sums the trailing twelve months of data (right below the data). So, January= January, February= Feb+Jan, etc....And this would be multiple years so after the first twelve months, the first January would fall off.
It is not clear to me if you want a simple "rolling sum" over the previous 12 months, or if you want a YTD sum from Jan to current month in current year.
The simplest approach I can readily think of is to use the =SUM() function with the correct combination of relative and absolute references. (See "using references in formulas" here http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...in=HA102749036). It does require that you change the reference after the 1st 12 months or every 12 months (depending on the type of sum).
If that isn't good enough, then it will hopefully provide a framework for you to explain in more detail what you need your spreadsheet to do.
