I am trying to get to a new client count by month. So I have two columns (Customer ID and Customer Start Date) with duplicate records. Thank you so much in advance!

Customer ID (Column A)
1) 24
2) 24
3) 24
4) 24
5) 28
6) 28
7) 30
Month (Column B)
1) 11/1/2009
2) 11/1/2009
3) 11/1/2009
4) 12/1/2009
5) 11/1/2009
6) 12/1/2009
7) 12/1/2009
Answers
- 2 new clients in 11/1/2009 (customer 24 and 28)
- 1 new client in 12/1/2009 (customer 30)

I have always found the content on this site very helpful - so thank you for that.
So your file does logically work. However, I am working with a huge data set thus it would be to tedious to flag each unique customer ID.

perhaps the Pivot Table is a more elegant solution.
The attached sheet does away with the helper columns. Please note that the formula in E3 is different from E4 and below.
