    Vlookup or index & match?

Hi, Attached is an example of what I am trying to do. The raw data is on tab 1 and final tab computes summary based on elements from tab 1 based on dates.
I was able to calculate sum of category "Part 1" using sumifs, however I am having trouble with looking up the values and summing based on sub category within "Part 1".
Attached example helps understanding the issue better.

    Thanks and Regards,

    N

I did it with SUMPRODUCT, which is very similar to SUMIFS.

    SUMPRODUCT((range1=criteria1)*(range2=criteria2)*(range3))

where range 3 is just what you're adding up.

You can put in as many ranges/criteria as needed.
