Put proper date numbers in H28:J28, i.e. 10/1/2013, 11/1/2013, 12/1/2013 (format them however you like)
H29 copied across and down

It seems like I am not entering the code correctly/ The results fill as 1/1 instead of actual sales data.

Richard said real dates in h28:j28 ie the first of each month then format those cells as mmmm to show October November December
you seem to have formatted the cells with the formulas as date m/d change the format of those back to currency
