Unhappy Opening 2007 file in 2013 loses all conditional formatting, Why?

    Dear all

I have created a 2007 file with several columns each with conditional formatting (some cols with five or six rules). I emailed the file to my son who has 2013 and when he opens the file it pops up a message that the file may be corrupted and 2013 can repair and recover as much of the file as possible. When he clicked on OK it proceeded to delete all conditional formatting. Has anyone had similar expeiences and have they overcome the problem? I would have thought that a recent version would be backwards compatable and if anything enhance what was in the former/earlier version. Any suggestion is very much appreciated as this is driving us spare.

    Cheers

Can you post the file here? (no data required but the Conditional Formatting rules should remain)

Re: Opening 2007 file in 2013 loses all conditional formatting, Why?

With reference to the OP I doubt the problem was anything to do with cond. formatting.

I've seen that 'corrupted' file from time to time where CFs have not been in place.

Who knows, sometimes a glitch sets in and AFAIAA there's no diagnostic tool or functionality available to us.

Re #5. As has been suggested upload the workbook you think is corrupted in a thread of your own.
