    Sumif

    Hi.

I don't know if anyone can help with this. I am usually good with Excel, if a little unorthodox, but things usually work, but this has me beat.

I have two spreadsheets. The first collects the production hours for the various disciplines. The second contains relevant information for live sales orders. What I am doing is linking the two sheets so the actual production hours in each discipline, from the first spreadsheet, are recorded on the second spreadsheet. Using SUMIF I can pick up the total hours for operation 1 in job 12345. if I copy and paste the formula to the next job I then have to overwrite job 12345 with job 12346 for each discipline and then repeat for each job.

It works, but is very time consuming.

I have tried referencing the cell, A1 or whatever, in the formula, so when the formula is copied to row 2, A1 becomes A2. That does not work and I am back overwriting the job number for each line and each discipline.

    Can anyone help, please?

    kind regards

    Re: Sumif

Have you tried to create a list of unique job #s and used that as a reference for your sumif stmt?

    EDIT: something like this?
