    lookup

    Hi
I have two tables that list customers by account number order and the limit of their account. What I would like to do is compare month to month so I can see if we have increased or decreased any account limits, added any new customers and their limits or removed any customers and their limits
Column "U" I have a formula that returns if the customer held an account with us the month before, in column "V" I would like the difference between this months and last months Overdraft limit. Unfortunately I cant just minus one from the other as the rows can change from month to month as new accounts are added and old accounts leave. (example shows this)

    Re: lookup

you have the same client ID in cell J3 & J4. (Is the Client ID not unique).

For change in credit try this formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Re: lookup

That is right they are not always unique numbers, customers can have two limits under 1 number

    Re: lookup

in such a case, how would you compute the change in credit limit from previous month?
Per Row 3, there is no change in Client ID 1's credit limit. Per Row 4, it has increased from 500 to 10,000.

    Re: lookup

I've amended the formula above. See if that's what you want.
