Say I have ten rows of data in columns A and B. In column C I want to perform a calculation on A and B in each corresponding row. So I write the formula in cell C1, then drag down to C10. Easy.
Now say I fill data into row 11. My formula isn't extended that far, so the calculation isn't performed. Is there a way to make excel automatically drag-down column C as soon as I enter data into new rows?
The reason I don't want to simply drag the formula down ahead of time to C500, for example, is because of file size. I have multiple sheets like this with dozens of formula-filled columns, and an uncertain number of rows ranging into the 1000's. So it would speed up my workbook a ton if I could make excel generate formulas only in the necessary rows.
