    Percentage Calculation Help?

    Hello,

I have an unique problem in Excel. As it can be seen from the attachment, there are 9 different same model cars (A,B,C,D..) and the rest cells are the car parts that used sequentially to fix the cars.

So, the problem is; what are the percentages of parts coming after random part X (not right after!)?

In an example, user wants to the see next part usage percentages after 46-270826P1 or another part. The database should be able to show the part usage percentages, after a selected X part.

I have working on it for a long time, but still havent found an answer. I asked another question before the possibilities but then I realized that this way will be much more better.

Therefore, I really need your help!

P:S: This database is a sample.

Didnt quite understand the question but try this.

Enter the part number you are looking for, select which column and it will give you the percentage of parts after that one

    Hello Sean,

I would like to list the parts that were used after Part X which was selected by you.

For examplei if I want to see the parts after 2271727. The list will be as follow: 5234954 5517075 5517087 5193173 5517078 46-150547P1 5308868 5176816ROHS 5117762 5140713-3 5407498 5517087. Then i can create a usage percentage part by part based on these values comes after 2271727.

But I have seen this manually. What I want to do is creating an algorithm that make you select a part like 2271727, then show the list of parts after this part automatically.

In bulletpoint, I can explain what I need as follow:

    1) The user can select a part from the database
    2) Then the system lists or count the number of each used part after your selected part no matter what your car model is. ( We should take a look at all table instead of specific A,B,C,D car model)
    3) Then, it calculates the percentages within this range.

My database is huge so I cant do it manually. Therefore I need an automatic way to deal with it.

Hope it is clean now. I really really need an expert's help.

    Thank you,

    Heffer

I think you need a vba solution.

im still not sure what you mean.

is there a list of unique part numbers?
how do you want the parts listed and where?
what do you mean by percentages? of what?

can you add a sample work book of an example of a part selected and then how you want the data to appear.

    1) It does not matter whether your part is unique or not.
    2) It does not matter how you list, count the parts comes after your selected part.

I just want to make you free to choose a part. Let say I want to select 2271727, then the system detects all 2271727 in the all database from A to I.

Then, count how much you can have each different part which comes after your selection (2271727) from A to I. Mean that, If I select 2271727 then how much I can count 5308868 or 46-150547P1 or whatever comes after 2271727.
