Linking input dates to quarterly reports in different tabs

I'm lookng for a way to add functionality across tabs in a spreadsheet where if you put a date and $ amount in different cells on an expense sheet, it recognizes the date of the amount input and it shows up in another tab with a list of monthly expenses.

    Any help is appreciated. thanks

Welcome to the forum. I think it would be helpful if you attached a sample worksheet.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

    Thanks for the advice.

What I'd like to do is have an expense list like below
    expense1.jpg

....and create a formula that recoignizes the date input and has the resulting cost reflected in the monthly expense list in another
    expense2.jpg tab

    Picture:

Please do not upload a picture of your file...rather, upload a sample of your workbook, showing what data you are working with, a few samples of your expected outcome (manually entered is ok) and how you arrived at that. (Exclude sensitive info). Pictures are pretty much impossible to edit, and no-one wants to re-type your data for you. Also, not all members can upload picture files (Company firewalls, etc.)

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
