If I have 1,000 entries in a column is there an easy way to determine the number of times a certain item is in the columns. For example if field A1 is "qwerty" I wan to see how many times "qwerty" or field A1 appears in the entire column?
Thanks

welcome to the forum, manceI . if you wish to count how many times each of them appears, you might want to consider Pivot Table too. select A1, go to Insert tab -> PivotTable. once it's out in the spreadsheet, you should see something on the right for you to drag the fields to. drag your column A header (say it's named Field) to the row labels and the value area.
