You need to include the words January(if is a text word) and bob in quotes..
"January" "bob"

can you post the sample as a spreadsheet - much easier to work on
how are the dates formatted - are they text , number, or a date
i suspect thats where the issue maybe

Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Solved. To undo, select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Unsolved.
As you already have headers - use it (and absolute and mixed addressing) in the formula and copy it right and down
like
=SUMIFS($E:$E,$A:$A,2014,$B:$B,H$2,$D:$D,$G3)
PS. Of course sample workbook attached is much better than a screenshot.
