    Use Multiple Columns to create a Item designation

    Not sure, again, if this can be done (I need to start learning programming already) but can I take several columns of different informatin and combine certain parameters to create a unique alphanumeric identifier?

    The attached doc represents the columns I'm wishing to combine in some sort of format:

    Cap Asset Class column: Initials
    Location column: Initials
    Date Purchase column: Year

    Example: CE2001 or C.E.2001 or C-E-2001

    Again, probably too much of a programming request but doesn't hurt to ask.

    Thank you!

    I dont think your file came though?

    To combine data from different cells, you can use the & sigh.

    A1=Join
    A2=these
    A3=cells
    A4=A1&" "&A2&" "&A3
    A4=Join these cells
