Offset function not capturing entire range

Hello, my worksheet has 1096 rows of data including headers. I am trying to create dynamic named ranges using the OFFSET function but when I check to see if they are capturing the entire range I see they are not.

    Here is my formula:

    OFFSET(SiteTrac!$FA$1,0,0,COUNTA(SiteTrac!$FA:$FA),1)

    OR

    OFFSET(SiteTrac!$FA$1,0,0,COUNTA(SiteTrac!$FA:$FA)-1,1)

    OR

    OFFSET(SiteTrac!$FA$1,0,0,COUNTA(SiteTrac!$FA:$FA)-1)

    OR

    OFFSET(SiteTrac!$FA$1,0,0,COUNTA(SiteTrac!$FA:$FA))

I have tried all four but every time it continues to stop on row 409. I have tried to name different columns and they all stop short too.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

Here is the file. Note the columns have now changed to A and B but the same issue persists.

OK so what were you going to do with that dynamic range, and what was your expected answer?

Re: Offset function not capturing entire range

I'm trying to capture all the data in each column so that when more dates are entered, the named range will automatically pick them up.

Re: Offset function not capturing entire range

give me an example of what you will be doing? I need to see what answer you are expecting to get?

    For instance, this returns 1086...
    =COUNT(OFFSET($A$1,0,0,MATCH(1E+306,$A:$A,1),1))

Re: Offset function not capturing entire range

You can use the below formula while defining named range (below formula is for column A):

    =OFFSET(SiteTrac!$A$1,0,0,MAX(MATCH(1E+306,SiteTrac!$A:$A,1),MATCH("*",SiteTrac!$A:$A,-1)),1)

Re: Offset function not capturing entire range

I will be making a chart with the date on the x-axis. I want to make sure that as more dates get added to the data set that the chart will automatically update and populate those dates. I also want to be able to type, for example, =COUNTA(F_MS30) instead of =COUNTA(A:A) with +F_MS30" being the name of the range of cells.

Thanks for your help but it's not working. It shows no cells selected when I tested it.
