Hi there,
Is it possible to get in a cell, through formula, the date of an Excel file itself?
I need to get the 'last modified' date from a excel worksheet. In windows, view/details/date.
Thanks a lot!!!

Elegant Simplicity............. Not Always
Hi,
It works for the worksheet I am working on, however I have modified the part "Thisworkbook" to the file I want to point it to and does not work. Additionally, I need to get several dates (meaning several files), so I am not sure whether this would work for all of them? THere is no way to do this with formula.
Please note that I am interested in displaying other excel files (in the same folder) last modified date, and not time.
Many thanks!
FileLister.xlsm
Lists all the excel files in a folder with their modified dates.
Hi Andy,
Many thanks for the contribution! Although it's useful to list all the excel files, I really need to point to a few of them, not all. Also, I am looking for a solution without the commandbutton, it should get refreshed automatically.
The first code you posted would be perfect if I could list several files and defining which ones.
So, there is no way to do this with formula?
MANY THANKS!
Not by formula I don't think..
The listing macro can be set to trigger automatically and be selective of specific files... The methods to do that depend entirely on the parameters
