Is there a formula in Excel to calculate rolling daily average of sales total by date?
Is there a formula in Excel to calculate rolling daily average of sales total by date?
Can you please elaborate? Or attach a sample Workbook?
Cheers!
Deep Dave
Ofcourse there is if:
Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

Attached is the mock data in an excel spreadsheet.
Thank you in advance for all your help.
Unable to understand the desired output..
I can see where you get the 170, but not the 90 value.
Usually when I calculate a "rolling" or "moving" average, I use the regular AVERAGE() function with the proper combination of relative and absolute references. Are you familiar with using absolute and relative references when copying functions?
You might also consider one of the other built in average functions (average, averagea, averageif, averageifs): http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...920.aspx?CTT=1

Hola,
It was incorrect. So with this formula do I need to change format in column A to a date format to reflect day of the week?
Hi,
No. Formatting is just that. Merely different ways of representing the underlying number. The number is a date number and hence can be used in date arithmetic without any further manipulation.
