2 Sparklines in a single cell in excel?

    Hi!

I have data in 2 columns as follows:

    Col. A Col. B
    10 15
    10 14
    10 15
    6 13
    12 5
    14 8
    10 10
    13 6
    9 14
    10 9

Data in Col. A is converted as a line sparkline and data in Col. B is viewed as a Column sparkline.

I wish to view both the sparklines superimposed on each other in the same cell using excel's native sparkline option (not a third party software).
Is it possible using some sort of Excel wizardry/ workaround?

PS: I need 2 actual sparklines in the same cell, not a Sparkline superimposed on a chart reduced to the size of a cell.

    Sample file attached

    Thanks,
    Naira

Don't think you can mix sparkline types in a single cell.

Best work around would be a linked picture of the sparkline positioned over the spark columns.

    Why not use a chartobject?

    Hi Andy,

    Thank you for your reply.

    1. Cannot use Chart object since I am using about 1200 sparklines in a workbook that is being updated in Real time every second. 1200 charts being updated in realtime would crash my workbook

    2. Can you please post a workbook example about how to use a linked picture of sparkline positioned over the spark columns? Will this linked picture of Sparkline be updated in realtime (with data in the same workbook)

    Thanx

Found a tutorial about linked picture sparklines at http://alesandrab.wordpress.com/2013...ble-sparklines

Any views on what is less memory intensive? Linked pictures or Excel charts?

I would not use linked pictures if you have 1200 sparklines to map to.

Your only other approach would be to draw the sparklines yourself with shapes.
