Question Weekly Sales Increase Percentage Added for a YTD %

I have been working on a goal tracking workbook that will track a variety of things. I've taken classes on Excel Years ago and have the basics down. However the more advanced formulas have escaped me.

I believe my method for tracking Sales increase will work However, it seems that the =Sum(A8:DB8) formula is having an issue. I think the issue is due to the cells that currently only have, a formula because those weeks have no data at this time.

I have attached the file in question and the issue I am having is on the STORE YEAR sheets. Cell B6 current Formula is =Count(C6:DB6) which produces a 400% with the data I have entered. I have also tried a simple =Sum(C6:DB6) but, it returned a #Div error.

Any information would be greatly appreciated,

    Dhaark

I've changed you formulas slightly on sheet "STORE YEAR". See if this is what you want.

Re: Weekly Sales Increase Percentage Added for a YTD %

Hi and welcome to the forum

Im not sure what your formula is supposed to be doing, but if you want to compare year1 (C4) with year2 C5), wouldnt your formula be...
    =C5/C4-1
If you had 15 last year, and 20 this year, you have increased 33% over last year, not 14.29%

To cater for weeks not yet entered, thazt would then become...
    =IF(SUM(C4:C5)=0,0,C5/C4-1)

Also, I would advise against using merged cells like you have - they just cause problems with calcs. From what I can see in your sheets, all you needed to do was widen the columns, not merger cells/columns

And looking at Alf's suggestion for the B6, if you want to add the variances together, then =SUM() is fine, but that does not make sense. I think what you need here is...
    =SUM(C5:DB5)/SUM(C4:DB4)-1

Question Whats an easy way to link data from 1 workbook to another?

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the quick responses, i got looking at the different options and decided to go with your suggestions ford. Now i have another question. I want to have 1 workbook with 8 stores listed and have 8 single store workbooks that are linked. Is there an easy way to make each single store workbook (1-8) link all the data required on the STORE YEAR sheet for each of 8 stores? Or would i have to manually link each cell to cell separately?

What i am looking for is a file that each store is responsible and can be emailed/saved and will update the 8 Store sheet.

Data being linked to STORE YEAR in (Yearly Goals Spreedsheet 2.0.xls) > C4:BB4 ect from (Yearly Goals - Store1.xls(1-8))

Thanks for all your help all ready,
