Hello,
I'm a bit of newbie when it comes to Excel and I've run into a problem I can't get my head around. I have a large data set of field data on mangroves in which individual tree measurements were taken within plots that were located within different area's that were themselves located within different sites. I have calculated the total leaf area for each individual tree but the next value I need to calculate is the sum of the leaf area's of all the tree within the same plot that are taller (i.e of greater height) than the tree I am investigating. I understand how to use the SUMIF function to calculate the sum of the leaf area's of tree's of greater height but how do I add to this function so it only sums the leaf area's of the taller tree's within the same plot not the entire dataset? would this be a SUMIF function with four criteria i.e. a height greater than..., within site x, within area Y and within Plot Z?
I understand that this is probably a terrible description but I have attached my Excel spreadsheet so you can hopefully get a better idea of what I mean. Any help would be HUGELY appreciated.
Thanks, Ben.
