Average Cycle Time for a Series of Dates

I am relatively new to Excel and am trying to come up with the monthly average cycle time for a series of dates. I have attached an example spreadsheet and would appreciate a formula.

    Try this formula

    =AVERAGE(B2:B27)-AVERAGE(A2:A27)
