replace nth occurrences of a character string within a cell...

Hello,

Can someone tell me how i would change the 1st 2 and last 3 occurrences of "-" to "<" in a cell?

A cell example is below. I need one equation to do this.

XXXX-XXX-XXX-X-X-X-XXX-XX-XX.X

Turn this into

XXXX<XXX<XXX-X-X-X<XXX<XX<XX.X

Any help would be appreciated!
