Calculate next due date based on start date frequency and current date

    Hi there,

I'm trying to workout how to take a known initial date a repeating frequency and work out the next due date from today.

    Example

    Initial Date :- 1st of January 2014

    Frequency :- every 5 weeks

    Current Date :- 9th of March 2014

Next Due date should be :-12th of March 2014 (if I worked it out correctly from my paper calendar)

I want to use a cell formula to do this for different initial dates and varying frequency periods (the frequency will always be whole weeks i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,10)

    Regards

    Hi, ironoverload,

maybe a comibation of Data/Validation, Firumlas and Conditional Formatting:
    week number is in B1
Formula in A2 (drag down as wide as necessary)
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Re: Calculate next due date based on start date frequency and current date

    Hi Holger,

This is great, but I'm only interested in the next due date from this week.
So if I open the spreadsheet today 9th March 2014 and the initial date (1st Jan 2014) is in A1 for this particular repeating task and the frequency is in A2 as (7) then if the Next due date is in A3 it will be (12th of March).

That way if I drag the formula down all of my tasks with different initial dates and frequencies I will only see all of the immediate Next Due dates after Today and not the next after and so on.

    Regards

Re: Calculate next due date based on start date frequency and current date

    Hi, ironoverload,

A1 holds the startdate, A2 the actual/today´s date, B1 the number of weeks.

    Formula for A3:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    and format A3 as Date.

    Ciao,
    Holger
