Separating Time and Date for Timestamp

    Good morning

Sorry to ask what i thought would be a fairly basic question, however alas I am not getting it.

Attached I have a list of exported timestamps that i need to separate into a Date column and a time column, however i am just not getting it.

I have tried various time / date formats, as well as trying to extract by using the left and right text options.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Darren

Wow ..... I knew it was going to be something embarrassingly basic.

    Thanks for that

Re: Separating Time and Date for Timestamp

You're welcome. Thanks for the rep.

It's only "embarrassingly basic" once. You won't forget.

A date is a number representing the day relative to 1/1/1900. That is, 1/1/1900 is day 1.

A time is a decimal number representing part (fraction) of a day. For example, 0.5 is 12:00 mid-day.

So a date and time has an integer part and a decimal part.

(Yes, it was quite a quick response, wasn't it )

    Regards, TMS

Thanks for the explanation ... I always prefer to get a "this is how it works" than just an answer

CSE, aka Array aka { }, formulae are confirmed with CONTROL+SHIFT+ENTER.
Replace commas ( , ) with semicolons ( ; ) in formulae, if your locale setting demands.

Re: Separating Time and Date for Timestamp

@icestationzbra: why would you format a Date and Time as General?
