Question Drop down menu for an inventory order form

    Hi,

I just joined the forum in hopes to get an answer to this problem I'm trying to solve.

I have a list of parts I use for a company with multiple vendors we get those parts from. I want to be able to have a drop down menu to select a vendor and then the parts for that vendor will be linked to the parts column (for just that vendor). I'm trying to do that using named ranges, but can't seam to figure out how to use the vlookup to accomplish that task.

I want to avoid having to have all of our parts listed in the parts column when selecting the part number. The issue I've had is using the named ranges.

    for example:

    1. Vendor Name= Vendor1 Part Number=Z446
    2. Vendor Name= Vendor1 Part Number=Z557

With the named ranges the same vendor name is in that column and it throws everything off... I guess I'm just lost here.

maybe there's an easier way to do this, but I'm stuck and am just looking for a solution.

Thanks for any help you may have.

    Hi,

You are going to create a second sheet with the information on it as per the example attached.

    Cheers,

Dang Ursul I feel sheepish right now hahaha... That makes a lot more sense to do it this way. Thanks for responding so quickly this helps a lot.
