    Drop Down Score Percentge

Hi I'm new here and would love some help.

I have a list of criteria to score per floor for my cleaning guys. So every floor would have around 16 sections to score, with a drop down of either 0,1,2,3 to input.

At the end I would like the total as a percentage, I have the sheet all set up, just don't know how to have a percentage total based on specific number combinations?

    Please help?
    Cheers
    Sal

    Re: Drop Down Score Percentge

can you post the spreadsheet here and also put in the expected result you would like to see excel work out

    from a percentage - would
16* 3 - sixteen sections with a maximum score of 3 be the total- so thats 48
the each section has a score - so SUM( range for all of the sections scores)
    percent =
SUM( range for all of the sections scores) / 48

that will give an answer between 0 and 1
    format the cell using %
or * the answer by 100 to show a percent

    Re: Drop Down Score Percentge

    Thanks appreciate your response.

So basically I would want the the red boxes to show a total of that floors percentage. The maximum as you have indicated would be 48 = 100%.

Also can each total percentage be added to give a Grand overall percentage?

    Thanks

if the red boxes are the scores - then yes - not sure what they are though , and not sure why the formula in some of the red boxes

no you cannot just add percentages

you need to add up all the overall totals - and then add up all the overall potential points and divide

see attached - I have shown some scores for overall
if you add them you get 146% , but the correct result is 36%

see columns I to L rows 3 to 12 for an example

hope that helps , if not please post back

Cheers, I thought there might be a way to auto calculate the percentage. As in total sum against maximum number etc. Thanks for trying though.

you can, total all the scores and divide by the total scores possible - you just cant add each of the % together
