Hi there,
I have a list of dates that I need to add the week commencing they each falls into. Is there a simple formula to show this? I have tried weeknumber that give a number rather than a date. This will allow me to group the list by a particular week.
Eg. 20-03-14 falls into week commencing 17-03-14.
Can anyone help?

I hadn't actually selected the cells (wrote G3) rather than selecting cell G3. It works!!

PS How does it work??
See excel help file meaning of second argument. (you will notice it has several values.
In this particular case it is 3, so:
returns day of week numbered 0: Mon, 1: Tue, 2: Wed... and so on.Please Login or Register to view this content.
So if you deduct it from date, you have the Monday of this week (week as Mon-Sun)
