Auto-fill a cell based on a drop down selection in one cell & a formula in another cell

I am trying to create an employee commission spreadsheet. I have created a list for the different types of sales. Each type of sale has a different formula for the commission that will be paid. How would I get a cell to automatically populate based on the drop down selection and the corresponding formula?
