    Lookup value in range

    Dear all,

    The question is quit simple but I cannot seem to find the right answer.
    I have one sheet "FF" which shows categories of companies (1-48) and each of these categories include several SIC numbers.
    What I now want is to find the right category (1-48) for each SIC code in my second sheet.

    Try this, copied down....
    =SUMPRODUCT((FF!$A$2:$A$599)*(IPO!B2*1>=FF!$C$2:$C$599)*(IPO!B2*1<=FF!$D$2:$D$599))

    Or this

    =SUMIFS(FF!$A$2:$A$599,FF!$C$2:$C$599,"<="&B2,FF!$D$2:$D$599,">="&B2)
