Saving text format from .xlsx to CSV problem

I have a column with MAR 10 as values. 10 is not supposed to be the day.
When I save the excel file as CSV then close and open the csv file, it's changed to "10-Mar" and is formatted as date.

I've tried putting ' before text but still doesn't work...

    Please help.

    Thank you,

Look at your CSV in notepad and see if it's formatted correctly.

My guess is Excel is trying to 'help' you upon import and convert the data to a date.

You may have to manipulate the field after import. Or maybe perform a custom import.

Re: Saving text format from .xlsx to CSV problem

Thanks for the reply. When I open the file in notepad, it's formatted correctly. I'm guessing Excel coverts it to data when the file opens. How would you manipulate or perform a custom import?

    \\Book1.csv

I saved attached file as csv from xslx. If you open attached file in notepad it's showing "Mar 10". When I try to open it in Excel it converts to "3/10/2014"

    Thank you,

    Hi !

Tip : fisrt, rename the file in .txt …
Then in Excel, open it and the Import Assistant comes : you just have to well respond to its parameters,
like the text column format … And doing this with the Macro Recorder will give you a free code !

    Regards !
