Adding several columns and merging into one.

    Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone could help me out with something. I have an excel file with 180 countries and various products and the number of times the product was sold. For example:

Column 1 (country and product) Column 2 (number of products sold)
    South Africa/apples 2
    South Africa/oranges 5
    South Africa/water 9
    Ireland/grapes 7
    Ireland/apples 11

The total file has 3,000 lines. I want to end up with only one line for each country with 2 columns. One for the country name and one for the total amount of all products sold. So:

    South Africa 16
    Ireland 18

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
