Angry Cant convert dec numbers into time :-(

    Buongiorno from York UK!

Attached here is my problem http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps1b8d30d0.jpg

Basically i'm trying to convert decimal values (representing minutes) into Hours & Time so i can see how much time Ive dedicated to a clients account. Ive tried and re tried making sure Ive formatted column correctly & several formulas including ="Minutes"/1440 but nothing works :-(

    Any insights welcome :-)

    Thanks,
    David

Not sure about the Italian greeting from Yorkshire () but perhaps you could upload an actual workbook with some examples?

    Grazie mille!

Try this for decimal in this format Hour.Minutes(.01-.99) Hours

If what i saw in your JPeg was minutes already divide by 60 to get the hours in decimal format

    Hello Pingbat,

It looks like you have a value of 2110 in D1 , so if that represents minutes that should convert to a time value of 35:10

As you say, division by 1440 (number of minutes in a day) should give you the correct answer, i.e. this formula in E1

    =D1/1440

....but it's important to get the formatting right - custom format E1 as [h]:mm

Including the square brackets ensures that you get time values > 23:59
