formatting source data for a pivot table

Hello. I've attached a worksheet with data that I have (dummy data and the amount of real data is 1000 rows). Is there a way that I can evaluate this using a pivottable and if so, how do I adjust the formatting?

No advice? Would it be better to use a filter than a pivot table? At least, someone tell me why I can't use a pivot table.
