    Spreadsheet Errors - Repairs, etc.

    Hi,
    Having trouble with a particular Excel spreadsheet.

    Running W8.1 x64, Office 2010.

    There's a small VBA code module sitting behind the spreadsheet and I've also used some controls - command buttons and check boxes on certain tabs.

    I'm having trouble opening the spreadsheet. Sometimes it causes Excel to crash, and sometimes it opens with errors and shows up as [Repaired] (but it's not really repaired - if I save it, close Excel down and re-open, the same errors occur).
    The message I see is: "Dialog box pops up saying "Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content". It gives me a link to a log file listing the repairs, which I've copied and pasted below:
    =================================

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main"><logFileName>error037080_01.xml</logFileName><summary>Errors were detected in file 'C:\Users\Alan\Google Drive\White Rose\Clients\Casualty &amp; General\Benchmark Claims Development\Historic Data\Replacement Spreadsheet 020414.xlsx'</summary><removedRecords summary="Following is a list of removed records:"><removedRecord>Removed Records: Object from /xl/printerSettings/printerSettings1.bin part (Print options)</removedRecord><removedRecord>Removed Records: Object from /xl/printerSettings/printerSettings2.bin part (Print options)</removedRecord><removedRecord>Removed Records: Object from /xl/printerSettings/printerSettings3.bin part (Print options)</removedRecord><removedRecord>Removed Records: Object from /xl/printerSettings/printerSettings4.bin part (Print options)</removedRecord><removedRecord>Removed Records: Object from /xl/printerSettings/printerSettings5.bin part (Print options)</removedRecord><removedRecord>Removed Records: Object from /xl/printerSettings/printerSettings6.bin part (Print options)</removedRecord></removedRecords></recoveryLog>

    =================================
    Can anyone please suggest what might have gone wrong and help me to fix it?
    Thanks!
    Alan.

    I suspect, it seems like a google spreadsheet file

    Does it? Why do you say that? I store my spreadsheets on my Google Drive but I don't convert anything to Google Documents or anything like that.
