Go to Row Reference & Display Contents in a certain column

Hi there, I would like some help on this problem.

I want to go to a row that is specified and display the contents of one of the columns. I have tried a VLookup but doesn't seem to work properly. I have attached the workbook for reference if need be with notes.

Try:
=Index(VOA!F:F,D3)
in E3

I'm not sure about your formula in column D though, how do you know you are picking out the right row? There are loads of examples in the VOA sheet that match the criteria you are looking for...

I have tried doing the INDEX function before but it returns a weird value of 40269? I have no idea why

& I know it's not perfect but it works most of the time.

Hi, that is a value in the cell it looks up (it's a datevalue).

Change the format of the cells in column D to date.
