Hi,
When I open the spreadsheet from it's original network location and add a hyperlink address such as: \\bluto.boi.cd.com\PROJECT-INFORMATION\__EXPERT-REVIEW\SEND\EXPERT-REVIEW-XXX\Mono-text\1bit - I am putting this in the ADDRESS field .... and then save the file.
As soon as I reopen the file (from exact same location) ... the address field no longer shows the full address (\\bluto.boi.cd.com\PROJECT-INFORMATION\__EXPERT-REVIEW\SEND\EXPERT-REVIEW-XXX\Mono-text\1bit) ... it only shows the last part of the address: Mono-text/bit/
It seems that after I save and open the file, it reverts the address to it's shortest possible path. Meaning that since the spreadsheet is located in the folder \\bluto.boi.cd.com\PROJECT-INFORMATION\__EXPERT-REVIEW\SEND\EXPERT-REVIEW-XXX\ .... it only needs to direct the link to the remaining path of Mono-Text\1bit.
So, question is ... how do I force the address to remain a full address instead of reverting to it's shortest possible path?
When a user copies the file over to his/her desktop, since the address has been reverted to just "Mono-Text\1bit", the user cannot open the folder.
I need any user to be able to copy the file to his/her desktop and still be able to use the hyperlinks to open specific folders on the network.
Thank you for your time and help!
UPDATE: This only is an issue if I create the hyperlinks while the spreadsheet is in the actual network location. (open spreadsheet from network location).
If I copy the file to my desktop, create the hyperlinks, and then move the file back to the network location, the hyperlinks still work. ??
