    Change Text Color within formula

In Excel 2007 I know that if you have a cell containing text that you can change the color of parts of that text like
This is the text in my cell and this is red text

But I have a cell with a formula that adds text to the end based on a conditional. I can't see any way to change the text color in this situation. Any tips? I basically want this formula:

=D_Notes & TEXT(CHAR(10),) & IF(Terms = "Budgetary Estimate Only", "Quote is budgetary only and is subject to change pending final design.","")

This can't be done by formatting the formula itself. You can only format text, not formulas (not even text within the formula).

In your example the formatting is simple and I would suggest doing this with conditional formatting which sets the font in that cell to red when Terms = "Budgetary Estimate Only".

Thanks for the reply 6StringJazzer. I wanted to avoid conditional formatting as it will change the format of the entire cell (including the text of D_Notes). I've just separated the 2 into separate cells for now. But, I still wish there was a way to format text within a formula.

One alternative, but a complex one, would be to use VBA instead of formulas to populate the cells, and then the VBA could also apply font color to the desired text. Don't know if going that route is worth it to you.
