Cannot Do an IF Statement in Excel.

=IF(B34="x",E34=(E33*1.01),0)....this is what i typed into cell E34. I want it to look at cell B34, and if it contains the letter x, put the result of (E33*1.01) into cell E34. if cell B34 does not contain and x it should put a 0 in cell E34. please help. Why won't this work?

    Thank you,

    Ralph R.

Your syntax is wrong. Try this:

    =IF(B34="x",E33*1.01,0)

Re: Cannot Do an IF Statement in Excel.

    =IF(L6<0 AND(m6>5) AND(o5<0) AND(p6>5) AND(s6>3)),L25,0)....Glenn you rock!

Can you assess this one please?

I want this cell to apply the greater than/less than logic above and if all criteria are met make this cell = what is in cell L25, else make this cell 0.

    Thank you....

Hi and welcome to the forum

You should use the "insert function (fn to the left of the formula bar) to help you with the function syntax, it really helps

    =IF(L6<0 AND(m6>5) AND(o5<0) AND(p6>5) AND(s6>3)),L25,0)

    =IF(AND(L6<0,m6>5,o5<0,p6>5,s6>3),L25,0)
