Removing the "%" sign on Excel chart axis

I realize all the numeric data was originally not in percentage format (a simple division without being multiplied by 100). So when I set the vertical axis to percantage format, it does display it as a percentage but with the "%" sign. Is there any way I could get rid of the sign? It's not necessary as the axis has already been titled accordingly.
I'd hate to redo all calculations, multiply by 100 and then create new charts only to get rid of the sign...

    Available number format codes: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ma...902.aspx?CTT=1

As far as I know, there is not a number format code for "shift decimal two places to the right" without adding in the % symbol.

The easiest way to do this seems to be exactly what you say you don't want to do: multiply the final result by 100 in the spreadsheet. I don't know that that necessarily means redoing the whole spreadsheet. If you don't want to edit existing formulas, simply add a helper column =100*result where result is an appropriate reference to the cell containing the result. Then use this helper column in your chart.

I could see doing this using Jon Peltier's arbitrary axis technique, but it would be so much more difficult than multiplying everything by 100, that I don't know what you would want to go to the effort. http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/ArbitraryAxis.html
