    Cell protection

    Hi,

    1. I would like to protect cell in MS Excel so people could click on it, but they can't erase or change the text in that cell. I use excel 2003.
    2. How can I copy and then paste one formula from one cell through each cell in entire column or row.

    Thanks and regards,

    Klo

    Re: Cell protection

    1. First, format cells you wish to protect as locked on the format menu's security tab. Next protect the worksheet with a password. Now locked cells can be selected, but not edited until you unprotect the sheet.

    2. Use the black square bottom right of the cell with the formula to drag its contents down.

    Re: Cell protection

Thank you guys, so if I understand correctly if I want to copy cell into 10000 (A1-A10000) other cells I must do this by draging copied cell and this is the only way.

Problem with question 1, I did exactly as you told me, but then I can't erase entire row 5 for example (there is erase option grey), I would like to lock cell L1, is this possible. I would attach my file but is too large.
